Now the world cup is over hopefully life will get back to normal. The end of the year is near but there are still things happening at Kapiti 10 pin.

Our $3.00 off peak league rate has been well received by league bowlers with more and more taking advantage of this discounted rate. Apparently some bowlers don’t know that this rate exists, so just a reminder, if you are currently bowling in a league at Kapiti, YOU QUALIFY FOR THIS RATE! Details are as follows:

This discounted rate will run until 31 January 2012 with an expectation that it will continue past that date. When your league winds up for the year you will still be able to bowl over the Christmas break for $3.00 per game.

You will no doubt ask, when is off peak? Basically off peak is anytime lanes are available. The best advice we can give is to ring first to check.

There are a few conditions of use, they are:

1            . This rate is not available to any person that is not a CURRENT league bowler at Kapiti Ten Pin;

2            . If you stop bowling in a league you no longer qualify for this rate;

3            . This rate is not available during our Friday happy hour;

4            . This rate is not available for any tournaments or competitions run at Kapiti Ten Pin; and

5           . If, while you are bowling, the centre miraculously fills up and we need your lane we may ask, and would             expect, you to vacate the lanes.

Our pledge to all league bowlers is that NO ONE will bowl for a cheaper rate than you!

KAPITI 10 PIN INAUGURAL CENTRE CHAMPIONSHIPS

These have been organised and will run from 1 November – 18 December 2011. To encourage as many league bowlers to participate as possible the cost is only $3.00 per game ($9.00 and a $6.00 prize/trophy fund, total $15.00). There are scratch divisions and graded (handicap) divisions that cater for all age groups and skill levels. See reception for more details and entry forms.

2012 LEAGUES. Shortly you will be approached to check out your intentions for next year. Hopefully you will all be coming back to enjoy our company. If you know of anyone else that would like to join a league can you get a league application form from our new display stand filled out and return it to reception.

The schedule of leagues is also in the display stand so if you want to look at another league (more or less competitive), they are all listed.

COACHING. This is available Monday’s from 4.30pm – 6.00pm. There is no charge and is for all league bowlers that want a few pointers. No need to be there for the entire time, even if you can get there for ½ an hour that’s ok. No need to make an appointment just turn up.

STRIKE CHAMPIONSHIPS. A number of our bowlers travelled to Porirua and the Hutt over the past month or so to compete in the Strike championships. Our bowlers performed extraordinarily well. Results are as follows:

PRO SHOP. Don’t forget we have the services of one of the best ball drillers in the country. Harry Foster has been drilling balls for over 20 years and currently operates out of Strike Porirua. Harry will come to Kapiti when required, so if you need to contact him his details are available on the display cabinet. Harry charges $25.00 to drill a ball bought off him and $80.00 to drill a ball if bought off someone else (these costs exclude the cost of inserts).

If you need to buy any bowling equipment, check out the display cabinet. Harry can sell you anything you want. Grant Davis from 10 Pin on line can also sell you anything you want so check them both out. Regardless of where you buy your ball, Harry will still drill it for you.

FUNDRAISING. Have you ever considered Ten Pin Bowling as a way to fundraise for yourself or any other community group? Kapiti Ten Pin will sell you games at a discounted rate and then you sell them at a marked up rate. Bowling in off peak times is best to get the cheapest rate.

PROMOTIONS LEADING INTO CHRISTMAS

· Friday Happy Hour 4pm – 7pm. $4.00 per game. This has proven to be very successful so if you want to join in booking is strongly recommended. Now also on Thursday between 4pm – 7pm.

· $20 rent a lane. Rent a lane for one hour Sunday after 6pm. If you’re a speed bowler this rate may work out better for you than the $3.00 per game rate. Do the maths!
